Teeth Cleanings
“I’ve been going here ever since we moved to the area 7 years ago. Fantastic, caring, and knowledgeable staff that not only does the usual cleaning & preventative care, but gives personalized advice on how to better care for your teeth & gums at home. As an added bonus, their newly remodeled building is beautiful!” – Erica P

Chalet Dental Care dentists and dental hygienists are highly experienced at spotting all of the common diseases and other oral health issues. For example, gingivitis is an early form of gum disease that can be treated with a dental cleaning, but if it’s not caught early, it can worsen into periodontitis which may cause you to lose teeth and require more serious treatment. Regular teeth cleaning from your dentist may prevent a need for surgery or tooth extraction down the line.
Regular dental cleanings are an important part of your preventative routine. Cleanings should take place every six months in order to monitor your oral health and also remove the excess plaque buildup from your teeth that is responsible for causing issues such as tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease.
Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet. It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your dentist and dental hygienist to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health.
A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions.
Prevention also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth.
Prevention dentistry helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
Deep Teeth Cleaning
For patients who are already struggling with gum disease, a deep cleaning may be required. Also known as scaling and root planing, a deep cleaning goes beneath the gum line to remove the plaque and tartar buildup causing the infection known as gum disease. This procedure is needed to help you control the infection and reclaim your oral health. Because there’s no cure for periodontal disease, you’ll also need additional cleaning visits throughout the year to help you maintain your oral health and keep your condition at bay.
At Chalet Dental Care, our highly skilled hygiene team is well equipped to help you with any type of cleaning you may need. It is our goal to help you achieve and maintain optimum oral health, and your preventative care appointments will help us do this.
The American Dental Association recommends brushing for two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste and flossing at least once a day because dental floss is very effective at removing plaque and food from between your teeth.
